We are pleased to announce a collaboration between AISWA and Dr Joanne Orlando, a leading international specialist on digital literacy. Join us where she will share her research on students’ home technology use and how she developed the TechClever Program for students and parents to directly address the issues schools are dealing with. We are also pleased to announce Dr Orlando will be leading a cohort of schools leaders in developing a new direction in digital literacy and wellbeing at their school. Simon Fittock (AISWA Staff)
Technologies Consultant
Simon specialises in the curricular area of Technologies and STEM. He holds a Master of Education by Research degree from Edith Cowan University in the field of educational leadership. Simon has a keen interest in educational practice and has professional experience in Australia and abroad. He has developed his expertise through work as a teacher, researcher and teaching and learning consultant.
Dr Joanne Orlando
Dr Joanne Orlando (PhD, M.Ed, B.Ed) is a leading international expert helping children create healthy and empowered relationships with technology.
Based on her groundbreaking insights, Joanne provides specialist advice and solutions to parents, schools and children on how to balance the challenges technology presents alongside leveraging the amazing opportunities it provides.
Joanne is a sought after speaker presenting extensively in the media globally. She works as a specialist consultant to the technology, health and industries, and to schools and education. Joanne’s TechClever Programs for students and parents are changing the conversations around technology away from one that focuses on fear, to one that focuses on digital literacy and digital wellbeing.

Webinar event conditions
- Attendance/access: For a paid AISWA-hosted webinar, only registered pre-paid users will be provided with access details. The school of any member attendee can access attendance data.
- Free public webinar: For a free AISWA-hosted webinar, the link is in the public domain and can be shared. Fully registered members (via the AISWA website) will have PL attendance recorded.
- Privacy disclaimer: Webinars may be recorded by AISWA. Attendees have the right to privacy but must take responsibility to notify the event organiser of their intention prior to the start of the event and turn off their camera/microphone. Attendee names will be visible to other attendees. NB: This condition was acknowledged during event registration.
- Attendee swaps: This is acceptable. The organiser must be notified. There are conditions.
- IT Acceptable Use Policy: Compliance with this policy for the use of the AISWA Teams platform and AISWA website is required.
- Payment Conditions: Price includes GST. All transactions are cashless. Registration is confirmed when payment is received.
- Cancellation: Cancellation is without charge up to the Cancellation Permitted date. Cancellations via this website. Late cancellations or failure to attend will incur full cost. Please refer any issues to the Event Organiser. AISWA retains the right to cancel a webinar. Attendees will be notified by email. Payments already received will be refunded.
