Description
- A “Staff Code of Conduct” with specific reference to Child Protection is a requirement under the Registration Standards for Non Government Schools in Western Australia. The staff code of conduct must be compliant with the requirements of the prevention of child abuse standard, (12).
- Simple provision of copies of the Code of Conduct, compliance guidelines and other policies and procedures will not adequately demonstrate compliance with Standard 4.4
- Should include guidelines on how to comply with it which clearly distinguish between grooming and sexual abuse, providing examples, and clearly delineate the boundaries between appropriate and inappropriate interaction between students and between student and adults
Due to the subject matter, children (under 18 years) are not permitted to attend.

Rebecca Delaney is an Inclusive Consultant for AISWA. Her expertise in Special and Inclusive Education has spanned over twenty five years both in the United Kingdom and Australia. Working in a variety of roles such as a specialist support assistant, teacher, tutor and Head of Department she has gained valuable training and knowledge, working alongside other professionals in Special Education. She has also experience in the field of Gifted Education and Early Childhood and has utilised this in a variety of different contexts in her career.
