Description

This session will look at staff Code of Conduct with specific reference to Child Protection, as is a requirement under the Registration Standards for Non-Government Schools in Western Australia. The staff code of conduct must be compliant with the requirements of the prevention of child abuse (Standard 12) and the session will unpack the required content in relation to the distinctions between grooming and sexual abuse and the clear delineation of student and staff boundaries. We will discuss the value of thorough implementation and why simple provision of copies of the Code of Conduct to staff is deemed not to adequately demonstrate compliance (Standard 4.4).

Due to the subject matter, children (under 18 years) are not permitted to attend.
