Description
South West Schools Inclusive Education and School Psychologists Network Meeting
This session is available to interested school staff from AISWA schools in the South West region.
The success of whole year acceleration for gifted and talented students is based upon the careful evaluation of evidence from a variety of sources. In this session we will discuss the type of evidence to gather on students considered for whole year acceleration, in addition to the consultative process that is necessary in informing decisions about a student’s suitability for this form of acceleration.
We will be referring to the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) ‘Guidelines for the Acceleration of Students Pre-primary–Year 10’ and the ‘Checklist for Acceleration of Students Pre-Primary–Year 10’. These documents can be obtained from: https://k10outline.scsa.wa.edu.au/home/principles/guiding-principles/gifted-and-talented-education-guidelines-for-the-acceleration-of-students-pre-primary-to-year-10
Some time will be allowed for local networking. Tea, coffee and light snacks will be provided.
