Description
This network day will give teachers the opportunity to work on course outlines and assessment ideas for 2026.
Consultants will be on hand to support and clarify with regard to the latest developments in the syllabi, and to help with liaison between teachers and schools to generate collegial collaboration, the printing of documentation, and whatever else is required as the planning progresses!
This PL is run in conjunction with CEWA.

9:05am Updating the Judging Standards – Year 7 -10 Common Assessment Tasks
Presenters: Nick Ognensis (SCSA), Chris Kelley (SCSA), plus a member of the SCSA English Team
The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) is in the process of updating its Judging Standards materials. As part of this work the Authority has developed Common Assessment Tasks (CATs) to support the collection of work samples to update the assessment pointers and validate the Achievement Standard for each year level. This session with provide teachers with the opportunity to explore CATs across Year 7-10 English.

John Crooks

John has worked in education for 34 years, and is currently Secondary English and Performing Arts Consultant with Catholic Education Western Australia Ltd. He has taught in remote and urban schools. Before becoming a teacher, he worked as a musician, and in theatre.
