Description
This workshop is for participants who have completed Scaffolding Adolescent Literacy.
This 2 hour workshop complements the Scaffolding Adolescent Literacy course which is a per-requisite for attendance. Participants receive the Scaffolding Adolescent Writing workbook filled with practical classroom activities. Many of these activities will be trialled during the workshop. The following topics are included in the professional learning:
1. A Scaffolded Teaching and Learning approach that includes a gradual release of responsibility
2. A detailed look at Shared Writing as a powerful teaching tool to improve student writing
3. A comprehensive genre approach to teaching writing.
Afternoon Tea will be provided at 3.30 and the workshop will begin at 4.00pm

Consultant | Animal Ethics
Christopher Witt joined AISWA in 2009. Prior to that he was a Consultant at STEPS Professional Development as well as a curriculum advisor following 25 years of classroom teaching. After working at AISWA for 15 years as a Literacy Consultant, Chris has moved into the area of animal ethics providing support for teachers and schools, particularly in the use of animals for scientific purposes and related legislative requirements.
