Primary Connections is a key resource to support primary teachers in linking science with literacy as well as providing teaching units supportive of the Australian Curriculum Science. This workshop provides participants with practical ways to maximise the teaching and learning opportunities provided in the Primary Connections books by gaining deeper knowledge and understanding of the 5 E’s, cooperative learning and embedded assessment as well as linking the 'Explore' and 'Elaborate' phases with the Science Inquiry Skills strand.

Consultant | Animal Ethics

Christopher Witt joined AISWA in 2009. Prior to that he was a Consultant at STEPS Professional Development as well as a curriculum advisor following 25 years of classroom teaching. After working at AISWA for 15 years as a Literacy Consultant, Chris has moved into the area of animal ethics providing support for teachers and schools, particularly in the use of animals for scientific purposes and related legislative requirements.
