Description

Join us for a dynamic professional learning series designed for early childhood educators who are passionate about the power and potential of play. The Playful Pedagogies Series explores how intentional environments, nature-based learning, and purposeful transitions can enrich children’s daily experiences and strengthen their sense of agency in early learning settings. Across the series, participants will engage with practical strategies and reflective provocations that highlight how play fosters curiosity, problem-solving, relationships, and communication. Each session offers opportunities to consider how thoughtful pedagogical choices can amplify children’s voices, support their wellbeing, and create meaningful connections between learning, place, and community. This series is ideal for educators seeking inspiration, contemporary practice insights, and actionable ideas to enhance play-based learning across the early years.

Outcomes

  • Apply playful pedagogy principles to create enriching, play-based learning experiences that foster curiosity and connection to the natural world.
  • Implement strategies to authentically involve children’s voices in planning, decision-making, and daily routines.
  • Design and evaluate play environments that support exploration, creativity, and wellbeing across indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Facilitate smooth and respectful transitions that honour children’s rhythms, relationships, and sense of agency.
  • Reflect on current practices and identify opportunities to enhance play-based learning through intentional environments and interactions.
  • Collaborate with peers to share insights, challenges, and innovations in early childhood pedagogy.
