Description

The Federal and State Ministers for Education have agreed to the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data model on School Students with Disability (NCCD). This data collection commenced in 2013 in a phased implementation approach, with full implementation by all Australian schools in 2015. This information session is specifically for key staff (Principals, Deputy Principals, Teachers, Bursars and Learning Support Coordinators) who are new to the NCCD process or who require a refresher of the essential steps involved. At the briefings we will cover the following: - Background to the NCCD model - Expectations of the Disability Loading under the National Plan for School Improvement - Nationally Consistent Collection of Data Model * Levels of adjustment and Disability Categories - How to decide categories and levels of adjustments - Collecting evidence and documentation - Confidentiality of information - Funding allocation - Accountability This course will be run via Teams and you will receive an invitation via email a few days before the session.

Maggie Balfe <span>(AISWA Staff)</span>

Maggie Balfe joined the Inclusive Education team at AISWA in January 2015. She has worked in the field of education for many years; starting her career in special education teaching in the 1980s with the Department of Education in Western Australia as a teacher in special schools. During the early 1990’s she worked in the United Kingdom as part of an early intervention team supporting families of children with disabilities. On her return to Western Australia she worked for Catholic Education WA taking on a variety of roles (Consultant for Students with Disabilities, followed by Coordinator of a High Support Needs Centre and finally teaching students with disabilities at secondary level) before joining AISWA. As an Inclusive Education Consultant Maggie supports schools promoting positive inclusive practices for students with disabilities in schools. Maggie has a Bachelor of Education and a Graduate Diploma in Special Education.
