Description
This session provides an exploration of the neuropsychology of ADHD and Autism, with an emphasis on understanding the experience of these students and ways that this may present within an educational setting. The content is informed both by current research and by lived experience of students, with the goal of building participants skills in empathising, understanding, and supporting our neurodiverse learners.
The session will explore ways that teachers can modify both their teaching methods and their classroom environment to better support the needs of these students. We will also explore reasonable adjustments and individual accommodations to support these students when those changes aren’t achievable. The session concludes with an exploration of effective planning strategies for supporting neurodiverse learners, including collaboratively developing an individual support strategy for a neurodiverse student in your class.
