Description
An opportunity for teachers of Music to meet and discuss current issues pertaining to the Music courses, to share resources and ideas, and to engage in professional learning.
This Music Network day is designed for all Music teachers, with a focus on those who are currently teaching Music in Years 11 and/or 12. There will be an opportunity to discuss current issues and consider planning and assessment.
The agenda for the day will include the following:
- An update from Nick Fielding (SCSA)
- Exam discussion
- Visible learning in the Music classroom with Lynette Fahie (BCGS)
- Sharing practice
Teachers need to bring a device enabled for internet access, as well as copies of their course outlines for 11 & 12 ATAR and General Music. Please also bring along an idea, game, or song that can be used to warm up a Music class and engage students in learning.

Teaching And Learning Consultant - The Arts
Karen LeRaye started her role at AISWA in 2016. She has taught Drama, Dance, and English at secondary schools in both Western Australia and South Australia, as well as Dance in an early childhood context in Canada. She has extensive experience in the performing arts, choreographing and directing for a number of school productions and performing arts festivals. Karen is passionate about Arts education and helping teachers develop quality Arts programs.
