Description
Effective planning for critical incidents in schools is vital, as they often happen unexpectedly, create significant stress, and can have a widespread impact on the school community.
The Non-Government Schools Registration Standards (Standard 7: Critical & Emergency Incidents) states that incidents are managed “...in the best interests of affected students. This requires that the risk of harm or actual harm to student’s wellbeing and the measures needed to promote their recovery are prioritised”.
Outcomes
- This workshop will assist schools to respond to the developmental and psychological needs of their school community in a way that reduces distress and promotes recovery.
