Word Inquiry - Lisa Burman
Learning to spell conventionally is not something that comes naturally. It requires teaching. Teachers have tried many different approaches to the teaching of spelling. Lisa will share her discoveries about word inquiry…this is what I had been looking for! Since then, she has constantly added to her knowledge, understanding and repertoire of teaching and learning strategies.
This Literacy Bite will:
• Clarify the components of English orthography.
• Introduce the guiding principles of word inquiry.
• Share strategies for getting started with ‘word scientists’ of different ages
