Description

This introduction to the new 'Measurement' trajectory will further enhance teacher knowledge and understanding of the 'Australian Curriculum' scope and sequence document. This trajectory has been developed by Peter Farmer from AISWA with input from Dr Paul Swan. It has been adapted from the Australian Curriculum: Mathematics and links well to the 'First Steps' program in Measurement. The Measurement Trajectory brings all the components of Key Understandings, Stages of Learning and Achievement Standards, incorporating a Statement of Learning for each year level, into a format easy for teachers to follow.

This full day session will help to give teachers links to key checkpoints and a greater understanding of the phases, students pass through, during their learning.

It will deliver sample diagnostic tasks and assessments to help evaluate student learning and plan for future growth.

Participants will receive:

  • Master Sheets outlining the sequence of measurement attributes from Foundation to Year 7
  • A series of helpful diagnostic tasks to assess the students understanding of measurement
  • Planning sheets for each attribute
  • Vocabulary handbook
