Description
This workshop promotes Mathematical Reasoning and Fluency through Problem Solving tasks that have been successfully used in classrooms.
By using tasks, students can make connections, work collaboratively and 'talk' mathematics. These are essential practices for developing student Understanding.
Each participant receives a copy of Engaging Maths: 25 Favourite Lessons and Mathematics Assessment for Learning: Rich Tasks and Work Samples. Valued at $110.00

David Dunstan (AISWA Staff)
Numeracy Coordinator

David is the AISWA Numeracy Coordinator and has worked with AISWA for nine years. He taught mathematics to rural students in WA for 28 years. David delivers ‘hands-on’ workshops, which include' "Engaging in Problem Solving and Reasoning Tasks", "A Whole School Approach to Problem Solving and Word Problems" and "Check the Clues Cooperative Problem Solving". He is a regular presenter at national mathematics conferences. David is a co-author of the “Check the Clues” series and "Playing with Place Value". In his most recent collaboration with Dr Paul Swan, the “My Word Book: Mathematics” was published in 2018.
