Description

The effective use of ICT is beneficial for both students and teachers. This session focuses on how you can get the best out of ICT for your classroom.

This hands-on workshop aims to develop participants' effective use of ICT to help teachers teach and students learn. It is framed around the development of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication. Participants will learn about using ICT to engage, extend and enhance learning experiences by being introduced to a range of innovative, student-driven technology. This session is suitable for primary and secondary educators with some initial experience using ICT in the classroom and those seeking to develop leadership in the area of ICT. Most resources will be non-platform specific, although, there will be an exploration of some Windows and Apple applications.

The session will involve the use of laptop computers, iPads and mobile phones. It is recommended that you bring your own digital devices, although, AISWA can provide devices if necessary.

Expect to:

Develop innovative usage of common ICT platforms
Explore new ICT platforms
Immerse yourself in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality
Create some classroom-ready resources

This session has limited places available. If all places are filled and you would like to participate, please put your name on the waiting list and we will keep the option open to run a repeat session during the same week. Contact Simon Fittock if you have any queries.
