Description

This 2-hour Term 3 webinar is designed for regional and local staff who are unable to attend the face-to-face session. The condensed online format provides a practical introduction to key data literacy principles and familiarises participants with different types of data and their use for various educational objectives. Using their own school’s data, participants receive step-by-step guidance on navigating Valuate to locate relevant information, generate clear visual reports, and interpret patterns to identify strengths, gaps, and areas for targeted school improvement. The session combines demonstration and hands-on practice, helping staff build confidence in data analysis and informed decision-making. It is ideally suited to regional leaders, local NAPLAN coordinators, HOLAs, and any educators seeking to develop their understanding of data and its role in supporting student learning outcomes.

Outcomes

  • Explore foundational data literacy concepts and different types of school data.
  • Develop skills to navigate Valuate to access and visualise relevant data.
  • Identify key strengths and gaps within school data to support improvement planning.
