New WHS Act Now in Force
Overview of the new WHS Act: Wednesday 27th of April at 1.00pm.
A team from Lavan will give an overview of the new WHS Act and discuss the implications for schools going forward. The presentation will be online via Microsoft Teams. A question and answer time will follow the presentation.
Please register for the presentation through the AISWA website. A Teams log in will be forwarded to those registered the day before the presentation.
Health and Safety Representative - The most recent Policy and Compliance Newsletter asked for expressions of interest in attending a 5 day Health and Safety Representative Course. The survey link is still open, and schools are encouraged to complete the survey as soon as possible so that I can complete plans for delivery of the course.
Notes: WorkSafe recommend all HSRs receive training within 12 months of being elected. Some HSR functions can only be performed by trained reps. Under the transition rules current elected OSH rep’s terms will expire in 12 months, or sooner if there existing term expires.

- Different formats to download the Teacher Standards – a customisable PDF export tool as well as editable word documents
- Multiple URLs enabling you to link directly to a particular career stage
- All career stages - https://www.aitsl.edu.au/standards
- Graduate - https://www.aitsl.edu.au/standards/graduate
- Proficient - https://www.aitsl.edu.au/standards/proficient
- Highly accomplished - https://www.aitsl.edu.au/standards/highly-accomplished
- Lead - https://www.aitsl.edu.au/standards/lead
- AITSL provides a broad range of evidence-based guides and tools to help teachers and leaders progress through each career stage of the Teacher Standards. Many of these are now featured on the Teacher Standards pages:
