Description

The Inclusive Education Symposium presents a significant opportunity for learning support teachers and coordinators to immerse themselves in meaningful professional development while fostering connections with fellow educators. Specifically tailored to support those working with students with disabilities, the event focuses on both the strategic and practical dimensions of Inclusive Education. Emphasis is placed on adopting best practices, understanding the latest policy developments, and sharing real-world experiences. Attendees are encouraged to actively participate, with the agenda shaped by constructive feedback from previous symposiums held in 2025 and February. This collaborative approach ensures the session remains relevant and responsive to the evolving needs in the sector.

Amanda Fernihough <span>(AISWA Staff)</span>

Amanda was appointed as the Inclusive Education Manager at AISWA in 2024. With over two decades working across various educational sectors, including Independent, Catholic, and Government schools, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. She is committed to fostering an environment where all children and young people can thrive, ensuring access to quality, equitable and safe education for every student is paramount.

Simon has worked in the Education Support Special Needs Education field for over a decade in both Department and Non-Government schools. He has worked in Education Support and mainstream settings with a wide range of students with differing levels of need. Simon is also an Occupational Therapist who has worked in private practice. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge in disability and brings a holistic but pragmatic view to his Inclusive Education Consultant role at AISWA.

While there is no onsite parking available, street parking is available along Walters Drive and surrounding streets, with a maximum fee of $5.50 per day.
