Description
This AISWA Inspire event showcases how independent schools are using evidence‑informed school improvement approaches to strengthen teaching, learning, and student outcomes across a range of contexts.
Anchored by keynotes from leading school improvement experts, the day aims to engage the audience in the wider research for leading effective school improvement and how that has been seen across our AISWA school context.
Participants will hear short, practical stories from school leaders and teacher champions who have used structured frameworks, such as whole‑school instructional models and improvement tools, to focus effort and build collective capacity. Presenters will share key milestones, enablers, challenges, and lessons learned as they lead change in areas such as pedagogy, curriculum coherence, data use, and student engagement. The event will also create space for dialogue and reflection so participants can consider how these approaches might translate into their own school contexts
Outcomes
- Develop a clearer picture of what purposeful, evidence‑informed school improvement looks like in real school settings, across different phases of schooling and contexts.
- Identify practical strategies for sharpening improvement focus, including the use of frameworks, data and a common instructional language to guide classroom practice.
- Gain insights into leadership moves, structure, and cultures that support sustained improvement, including the role of teacher champions and collaborative inquiry.
- Reflect on their own school’s current improvement priorities and identify next steps they can take to strengthen teaching and learning in their context.
