Lance Holt School is a small independent school catering for children from Pre-kindergarten to Year 6. We are looking for a creative and innovative teacher to teach a combined Year 5/6 class.

About the Primary School Teacher

We are seeking a suitability qualified and motivated Primary School Teacher to join our passionate, dedicated team. Your highly developed interpersonal skills will see you build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for students. You will demonstrate your passion for and experience in teaching Upper Primary students and be an innovative and exemplary classroom practitioner.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

  • Maintain a classroom environment which is stimulating, focused and engaging, and which reflects the school’s Core Values

  • Effectively teach the WA Curriculum using appropriate teaching and learning strategies

  • Keep abreast of any specific student needs and support these in the classroom.

  • Assess student work in line with school policies and procedures

  • Contribute to the development of a strong learning community and culture

  • Develop positive and professional relationships with students, parents and colleagues

  • Contribute to collegial discussions and planning to improve the learning outcomes for students

  • Contribute and support whole school initiatives

 

Selection Criteria - Qualifications, skills and experience:

 

  • Enthusiasm for working with students across the Upper Primary Years

  • The capacity to cater for students with a range of abilities and learning styles within the classroom and to monitor, and respond to, student progress

  • A record of innovative practice, including inquiry-based learning and project work experience

  • ICT Skills, knowledge and effective incorporation into classroom practice

  • Support for the values and philosophy of our school.

  • A commitment to student wellbeing

  • A track record of effective communication with students, staff and parents

  • Knowledge of the WA Curriculum

  • Enthusiastic, resilient and optimistic educator

  • A high level of organisational ability; is flexible and can prioritise and manage multiple demands

  • High level of communication skills

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills which enable positive relationships to be built with peers, staff, parents and students

  • Able to successfully work independently, and collaboratively, as part of a team

  • A commitment to lifelong learning and continuous improvement

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Relevant Teaching qualification

  • Current TRBWA registration

  • WA Working with children check
