We are now inviting Expressions of Interest for an experienced and motivated Senior Grounds & Maintenance Person to join our team.

Senior Grounds & Maintenance Person

Full-time (1.0 FTE) – Commencing 5 January 2025

About the Role:

The Senior Grounds & Maintenance Person plays a key leadership role in maintaining and enhancing our College grounds and facilities. This position combines hands-on maintenance, practical problem-solving and the ability to oversee day-to-day upkeep—all carried out in alignment with the College’s Christian ethos.

Personal Qualities:

  • Live out your Christian faith and are committed to modelling and supporting the College’s Core Values.

  • Have proven experience in grounds work, general maintenance or handyman roles.

  • Bring practical skills in repairs and maintenance.

  • Can work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

  • Demonstrate initiative, strong attention to detail, and sound problem-solving skills.

  • Communicate clearly and build positive working relationships.

  • You are committed to creating a safe, orderly and welcoming environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Undertake routine grounds care and improvement tasks to ensure the College environment is well presented year-round.

  • Supervise a small team.

  • Identify and report maintenance issues proactively.

  • Complete repairs and provide general upkeep of College equipment, vehicles and grounds facilities.

  • Assist with setup and pack-down for College events and activities.

  • Support the broader Property Team on joint projects and shared tasks.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

Additional Requirements:

  • Relevant trade qualifications or equivalent experience.

  • Manual Driver's Licence.

  • Moderate computer competency.

  • Current Working with Children Check.

  • Current National Police Clearance (issued within the last three months).

  • Completion of Child Safety training (required as part of induction if not already completed).

  • Legal right to live and work in Australia (VEVO check will be conducted).
