About the Role
South Coast Baptist College is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary Teacher to join our Science team in 2026.
The successful applicant will collaborate closely with the Head of Science to deliver high-quality learning experiences that support students’ academic development, while upholding the College’s mission, vision, and Christian ethos.
Position Description
- Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons that foster student understanding, curiosity, and achievement.
- Implement effective classroom management and assessment practices that support a fair, safe, and respectful learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment design, and whole-school initiatives.
- Maintain strong and effective communication with parents to support student learning and wellbeing.
- Integrate technology into teaching practice to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing professional learning, school meetings, and classroom observations to continually refine and improve teaching quality.
- Uphold and model the Christian values and ethos of South Coast Baptist College, contributing positively to the wider school community.
Position Requirements
- Degree in Education with TRBWA registration and recognised teaching qualifications.
- Demonstrated success teaching Science in a secondary school context, with strong curriculum knowledge across relevant disciplines.
- Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment through effective behaviour management strategies.
- Strong proficiency with educational technologies and excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to SCBC’s Christian values, ethos, and a desire for ongoing professional growth.
Essential Criteria
- A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Active participation in a church or Christian community, demonstrating Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
- Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
- Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents.
- Commitment to personal best practice.
- Ability to make decisions that are impartial, fair, and based on fact.
- Use of appropriate and proper channels of communication.
- Consistently acts in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
- Adherence to all SCBC policies and procedures.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Current Working with Children Check.

Employment Type: Permanent, 0.8–1.0 FTE
