About the Role

 

South Coast Baptist College is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary Teacher to join our Mathematics team in 2026.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the Head of Mathematics to deliver high-quality learning experiences that support students’ academic progress and align with the College’s mission, vision, and Christian ethos.
 

 

Position Description

  • Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous lessons aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum.
  • Implement effective classroom management and assessment strategies that promote a fair, safe, and respectful learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, assessments, and whole-school events.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and contribute to fostering positive relationships.
  • Integrate technology into everyday practice to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development, school meetings, and classroom observations to continually improve teaching quality.
  • Uphold and model the Christian values and ethos of South Coast Baptist College, contributing to student wellbeing and the broader school community.

 

Position Requirements

  • Degree in Education with TRBWA registration and recognised teaching qualifications.
  • Demonstrated success teaching Mathematics in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum for Mathematics.
  • Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment using effective management strategies.
  • Proficiency in educational technologies and excellent communication skills to build supportive relationships.
  • Commitment to the Christian values and ethos of South Coast Baptist College, with a strong focus on professional growth.

 

Essential Criteria

  • A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
  • Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to personal best practice.
  • Ability to make decisions that are impartial, fact-based, and fair.
  • Model appropriate and proper channels of communication.
  • Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
  • Adherence to all SCBC policies and procedures.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Working with Children Check.

 

Employment Details

Employment Type: Permanent, 0.8–1.0 FTE
Commencement: January 2026, or as negotiated.
