The School is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and committed Primary School Indonesian Teacher to join our School.
This ongoing position is 1.0 FTE full time commencing in Term 2, 2023 and will involve teaching the Indonesian language to students in Primary School.
Previous experience teaching the Indonesian language is desirable; however, graduates are welcome to apply if they hold relevant tertiary qualifications.
The School has advocated Language learning and intercultural understanding since the School’s inception in 2000 and made the deliberate decision to offer a single Asian language, which has led to the School developing the largest Indonesian language programme in Western Australia, if not in Australia, with over 1,100 students studying Indonesian.
The Primary School Indonesian programme begins in Pre-Primary where students are introduced to songs and games with an emphasis on listening and speaking. Students from Years 1 to 6 learn Indonesian in an environment where they are immersed by language and cultural artefacts. Students also assist with the Indonesian garden and participate in activities in the bamboo and thatched roof ‘pendopo’ (gazebo).
