Providence Christian College is a K – 12 independent school of 840 students situated in beautiful Southern River, Perth. We are seeking the services of a highly committed and motivated Christian educator to join our team for the part-time (0.2 FTE) position of KINDERGARTEN TEACHER to commence in Term 1, 2021. The successful applicant will have -
- Relevant teaching experience, be approachable, and relate well to students and parents, and
- A thorough knowledge of the Early Years Framework and National Quality Standards for Early Childhood, and
- Experience with play-based learning
The successful applicant will teach the Kindergarten class on Wednesdays to provide a DOTT day for the classroom teacher. The expectation is that they will plan for, and run the day. At Providence Christian College we focus on developing the whole student, as well as maintaining high standards in regards to curriculum. The Primary School has strong links with our Secondary School to ensure an effective continuum in student learning from K - 12. Essential Knowledge and Experience:
- Early Childhood Trained
- Exemplary teaching practice, with proven classroom management practice
- Comprehensive knowledge of current educational needs and achievement standards as they apply to Early Learning
- Demonstrated ability to address students' varying intellectual, emotional and physical abilities in teaching practice and pedagogy
- Have developed a variety of teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of all students that you teach
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills including team building and mentoring skills
- Prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that your students are always well-provided for
Personal Qualities:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, that can be used effectively with staff, students and parents
- Demonstrated planning, organisation and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills underpinned by the Providence Core Values
- Are passionate about living out your Christian faith and you are prepared to model, uphold, and support the Ethos of the College and its Core Values
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience related to the teaching responsibility required by the position.
- Be registered to teach in Western Australia and hold a current Western Australia Australian Teachers Registration Board Certificate.
- Current Working With Children clearance
- You will be expected to complete a child safety course if you have not already
