About the Role
Frederick Irwin Anglican School is seeking an innovative and dynamic educator to join our Primary and Secondary team from Term 4, 2025 and for the 2026 School Year. This is a 0.9 FTE fixed term part time position in 2025 with the opportunity for a 0.4 FTE fixed term part time position in 2026  and offers the opportunity to contribute to a thriving, values-based school community.

 

The successful applicant will:

  • Teach Japanese from Years 5–8
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive Department
  • Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and a student-centred approach to teaching and learning
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire students and foster a love of language and culture
  • Embrace innovation and respond positively to the evolving nature of curriculum and pedagogy
  • Contribute actively to the broader life of the School community

Frederick Irwin Anglican School teacher salaries are generally 2.5% above the comparable Department of Education of Western Australia rates.

 

Classroom and Specialist Teachers
Classroom teachers are required to present purposeful educational programmes to classes allocated to them on the school timetable, and to participate in the general life of the School.

 

Teachers must meet the following:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching programmes that align with the curriculum and syllabus requirements.

  • Use a diverse range of teaching methods that cater to the needs, interests, and abilities of students.

  • Develop clear, challenging, and achievable learning expectations for all students.

  • Incorporate ICT effectively in teaching, learning, and administration.

  • Create engaging assessment tasks and provide meaningful feedback in line with syllabus requirements.

  • Build positive relationships with students and foster a respectful, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.

  • Maintain open and professional communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, class activities, and expectations.

  • Work with students in whole-class, small group, and individual settings, adapting to the physical and developmental needs of learners.

  • Critically reflect on teaching practices and make adjustments to improve learning outcomes.

  • Present as a professional teacher through communication, manner, dress, and conduct, while upholding the ethos and reputation of the School.

  • Attend, organise, and support assemblies, services, and school events.

  • Provide supervision and ensure student safety during structured outdoor activities and rostered play sessions, responding promptly to situations as they arise.

  • Encourage students to develop an active and constructive attitude to learning, promoting excellence and mutual respect.

  • Suitable teaching qualifications (with secondary teaching qualifications where applicable).

  • Demonstrated experience in developing engaging, stimulating, and effective learning programmes.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth.
