About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Inclusive Education Teacher to join our team for the 2026 school year. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, promoting inclusive education practices, and collaborating with staff to develop and implement effective support strategies. This role requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills, a heart for supporting every student’s unique journey, and a commitment to teaching from a Christian worldview.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Inclusive Education

  • Implement the College’s Inclusive Education plan to support students with diverse needs.

  • Develop, monitor, and review individual learning plans (Documented Plans, Modified Curriculum Plans, Safety Plans, etc.) in collaboration with teachers, coordinators, Heads of School, and parents.

  • Plan and deliver small-group intervention lessons in literacy and numeracy.

  • Support teachers and Education Assistants in providing appropriate adjustments and strategies for student learning.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and adjustments using school platforms.

  • Identify students with special educational needs, conduct assessments, and assist with funding applications.

  • Foster student engagement, motivation, wellbeing, and respect for diversity.

  • Assist with student transitions, specialised equipment purchases, and professional development within inclusive education.

     

Teaching

  • Deliver teaching and support programs that cater to a range of student needs, including in-class, withdrawal, or team-teaching formats.

  • Exercise pastoral care responsibilities and promote a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment.

  • Collaborate with parents and staff to support student learning and wellbeing.

  • Use technology and school platforms to plan, deliver, and monitor curriculum and student progress.

  • Engage in reflective practice and professional learning to maintain high teaching standards.

  • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and mentoring of colleagues or student teachers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications as a teacher including experience with the WA & Australian Curriculum or a similar School Curriculum.

  • All applicants must be registered to teach in Western Australia with the TRBWA (Teacher Registration Board), have a current Federal Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the employment requirements and conditions of Foundation Christian College:

  • Remuneration for this position will be determined dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.

  • Award - Educational Services (Teacher) Award 2020.
