SEDA College WA is on the hunt for a Human Resources Advisor to join our diverse and unique high school (not as a student of course!). We are a Senior Secondary Education provider for students interested in learning in a more hands-on environment. Our focus was initially sport but has since grown to include a construction and trade program, and we’re showing no signs of stopping. As our College grows exponentially, we need a talented HR Advisor to help us handle an expanding staff team.   • Fixed term – Part-time or full-time (0.8FTE - 1.0FTE) 
  • Based at head office in Wembley with parking provided
  • Five weeks annual leave (pro-rata)

Key responsibilities

  • Provide advice and support in the coordination of human resource activities and operations.
  • Assist College staff with information and maintain confidentiality. 
  • Championing the College approach to the employee lifecycle.
  • Drive the College approach to being an employer of choice.
  • Lead the recruitment processes, including selection and appointment processes.
  • Manage Working with Children and Criminal Screening checks, pre-employment requirements and appointment documentation.
  • Coordinate HRIMS and payroll processing.
  • Contribute to strategic workforce planning and budgeting.
  • Develop, conduct, and analyse staff engagement surveys, and advise college on appropriate actions.

 

Your capability

  • Sound employee life cycle knowledge and skills including research, planning and recruitment practices, education sector experience is desirable.
  • Ability to provide effective support and input into the development, implementation and monitoring of human resources management systems, processes and policies.
  • Excellent relational, written and oral communication skills with the ability to provide accurate information from multiple data sources.
  • An eye for detail and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver results and show initiative.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work systematically, independently and contribute effectively as a team member to achieve strategic workforce goals.

Employees will be required to:

  • Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
  • A current national Police History Check as issued by the Department of Education Western Australia is a requirement. 
  • As part of the selection process the preferred applicant will be required to obtain a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC), 
  • Hold a current C -Class Driver’s Licence to travel within WA and Perth Metropolitan and Bunbury area.
