SEDA College WA has a rare opportunity for an experienced and motivated Head of Learning Area (HOLA) to join our team. SEDA College WA are looking for two HOLA’s in the following areas:  

  • Mathematics & Student Enrichment, commencing in 2023
  • VET & Career and Enterprise, commencing in 2023
     

The Head of Learning Area is responsible for the leadership and development of the learning area throughout the College, ensuring that each student is positively encouraged to develop their potential to the full. The HOLA will be expected to work closely with colleagues in the department and across other curriculum areas. Please refer to the Position Description below for further details.

You will be joining SEDA College WA as a pivotal part of a dedicated and successful team. This is an important role, so it goes without saying that you will need to have the appropriate qualifications and accreditation required to lead the specific learning area. You will also need to be registered with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA), have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE40110 (or be prepared to work towards one), together with a current driver’s licence, current and valid working with children check and a current Senior First Aid (or willingness to complete). 

You will need to have strong interpersonal skills enabling the Head of Learning Area to relate positively with staff, students, and parents, have professional expertise combined with educational vision and strong sense of purpose consistent with the ethos of the College. You will also need to have outstanding classroom practice, an understanding of educational issues, the ability to deal with people in a way which respects and builds personal integrity, along with exemplary leadership skills and an ongoing commitment to the personal and professional development of self and others.
