Head of Forrest Library Centre
An ongoing, full-time position commencing Term 1 2024
Hale School is Western Australia's oldest independent boys' school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48-hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.
The Head of Forrest Library Centre is a newly created role, commencing Term 1 2024. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high quality educational, operational and strategic leadership across all programmes and operational areas of the Centre. This includes leadership and management of the Learning Support team, and curriculum support programmes in the Middle and Senior Schools, and oversight of Library operations. The Head of Forrest Library Centre is a key role in the School and an advocate for the support of all students in their learning.
The Head of Forrest Library Centre works to build an open, inclusive and effective curriculum support and enrichment learning culture, and plays a lead role in developing a suite of programmes that improve learning outcomes for all students in the Senior School.
The successful applicant will:
- be a registered teacher holding formal qualifications in specific learning difficulties/special education
- be an exemplary teacher, with experience in curriculum support/enrichment teaching
- have the capacity to lead and motivate others
- have the ability to communicate effectively
- have the ability to relate well to students, staff and parents
- possess a strong work ethic
- have knowledge of, and strong interest in, developments in curriculum support and enrichment teaching theories, practices, and programmes
- have proven capacity to work as a member of a team
- have an understanding of, and empathy for, the learning needs and social, emotional and spiritual development of boys
- have a firm commitment to independent schooling and a willingness to support the School’s values and Anglican traditions.
Applicants must have:
- current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia, or be eligible for registration
- a current Working with Children (WWC) check.

- Employees who have arrived in Australia within the last 12 months are required to provide Hale School with a Police Clearance issued by their country of origin within the 12 months prior to appointment, preceding appointment to Hale School. Documents are to be translated by a certified agent if necessary. The cost of this clearance is to be borne by the applicant.
