Consultant, Aboriginal Independent Community Schools

Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Consultant, Aboriginal Independent Community Schools (AICS) to serve as a key point of contact to support the coordination of AISWA services to AICS schools and to assist them with their needs across a range of curriculum and operational areas. In addition, the position is responsible for providing leadership and building the capacity of school leaders within AICS. 

This 0.8 FTE (negotiable) position will report to the Manager, First Nations Leadership and Partnership and will be based in Broome, Western Australia.

The successful candidate will have:

 

  • Demonstrated expertise in Aboriginal Independent Community Schools (AICS).
  • Strong consultancy, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to establish networks and liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
  • High-level written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Recent primary school leadership experience, with evidence of exemplary teaching practice.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of school improvement processes and their relationship to effective pedagogy.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal communities, cultures, and contexts.
  • Experience in developing and delivering Aboriginal education programs for a range of audiences.
  • Experience or interest in English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) will be highly regarded.
