Santa Maria College is a leading Catholic girls' school, founded by the Sisters of Mercy with 1,300 students from Years 5 - 12 including 150 boarders.
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic College Psychologist or Counsellor to join our vibrant Health Services team.
The successful applicant will be part of team who provide psychological and educational support to students helping to ensure they are able to maximise their wellbeing at school and beyond.
The role can have flexible working arrangements with the number of days per week negotiable with the option of working term time only. This is a fixed term position (with a probation period), with the potential for the role to be ongoing. The position commences in Term 2, 2026.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Knowledge of and commitment to our Catholic ethos and Mercy values

Knowledge and experience of effective strategies, therapies and programmes for an all girls environment

Ability to effectively counsel individuals and/or groups on matters which affect the wellbeing of students. This may include learning, social, emotional and mental health issues and familiarity with risk management

Willingness to engage in small, medium or larger group presentations or programs to proactively support the wellbeing and mental health of students as part of our three-tiered approach

Connections with and knowledge of external services for referral

Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff and parents

Highly developed ICT skills

A commitment to ongoing professional learning

Ability to work as part of a strong team to provide support to students

Registration with the Psychologist Board of Western Australia
