Description
Come and join this one-hour online presentation by SchemaPlay's Lynnette Brock where you will find out what operational schemes are, what they look like in practice and develop practical scheme spotting skills to support meaningful continuities!
Young children's hearts, bodies, ideas and investigations are valuable and precious. Children deserve and should receive respect and the appreciation of being capable learners in all aspects of their development. Part of this respect requires us as adults to manage the diversity of the task in promoting self-belief, capable, successful and motivated learners and, when pedagogy becomes sufficiently attuned to the learning needs of all children, the right for all young children to learn through play is realised. SchemaPlay Pedagogy supports adults working with young children to build upon what children ‘can do’ (their operational schemes observed in their self-chosen free play), and what ‘they know’ (their figurative schemas), to offer meaningful continuities – essential for fostering quality in early childhood education.
