Description

AISWA is proud to host this 2-day online course presented by Chris Harte from Unstuck Learning Design. For further information please contact Maree Whiteley.

In this volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world, it is now, more than ever, essential that we equip our young people with the belief that they can make a positive impact on their world. This workshop series explores how we can build transdisciplinary projects that use Design Thinking, STEM+ knowledge sets, mindsets, skillsets and toolsets within a purposeful context to activate learner agency.

By the end of this workshop series, you will have a beautifully designed project that you can share with your learners and colleagues. This project plan will elucidate the Design Thinking process, the curriculum areas included and links to the real world through the Sustainable Development Goals and real-world application.

Day 1 (Half-day) Tues 30 March 1.00-3.30pm

Design Sprint - Using a combination of SDGs as a stimulus, you will participate in a design sprint that takes you through the whole Design Thinking process in a couple of hours and helps you develop an understanding of what this might feel like for a learner.

Day 2 (Full-day) Wed 31 March 9.00am-3.30 pm - including planning time and breaks

You will be provided with tools such as Hexagonal Mapping and a detailed project planner to support you in developing your project plan. Towards the end of the day, we will have an Exhibition of Learning where you will share your plans with colleagues for critique and refinement.
