Description
A cross-sector collaboration with the Department of Education and the Association of Independent Schools of WA to examine how a range of digital platforms and AI can be used to create rich tasks and assessments in second language learning classes.
This full-day PL will walk participants through how to use different digital platforms and AI to create rich tasks and assessments which allow for differentiation and personalised learning. Time will also be given for participants to apply their learning by working in small groups to create their own rich task or assessment, guided by steps provided in the morning session.

Clare Slyth is a Consultant for School Improvement, bringing over 15 years of teaching experience across early childhood to senior secondary education. Previously an Education Consultant with AISWA, specialising in Languages, Clare has extensive expertise in supporting and training teachers across a range of disciplines. Passionate about fostering excellence in education, Clare is dedicated to helping schools create positive learning environments that inspire growth and success. Her commitment to collaboration and professional learning supports teachers in delivering outstanding outcomes for their students.
Angela Melia

Angela Melia is the acting Principal Consultant (Languages) at the Department of Education WA. Angela has been a Languages educator (Italian) since 1984, teaching across all phases of learning and across different learning contexts. She is passionate about engaging and motivating students to achieve their personal best and to foster their enjoyment of learning a language.
