Description

Participants in this 'hands - on' workshop will use a variety of tasks, materials, and games, to develop their understanding for teaching fractions. Unit fractions are an integral understanding that will help students when comparing, ordering, and operating with fractions. There will be a "Teach, Practice and Apply" approach shown, and this will be modelled mainly on the Year 6 curriculum. Participants will receive a booklet and some resources that accompany this approach. Fraction assessment ideas will also be addressed. Target audience: Years 4-8.
