Diana is the current Manager Finance, having joined AISWA in June 2019 as the Business Practices and Contracts Manager, and more recently the CFO. Diana is a qualified CPA Accountant, having worked as a Business Manager for a K-12 Day & Boarding school for 15 years.

Claire joined AISWA in April 2015. She has worked in education over the past 18 years in both primary and secondary schools, predominantly as a science and maths teacher. Since moving to Western Australian in 2010, she has worked in both the Catholic and Independent sector, most recently at a large Independent school as Head of Learning Enrichment. Claire has a First-class honours degree in Chemistry, a Master of Education, specialising in special educational needs and she is currently undertaking a Doctor of Education at UWA, focusing on pedagogy and curriculum.

MICHELLE HOUWEN MBA, CPA, BBus (Accounting and Finance)

Michelle’s journey with schools started in 1998 when her daughter commenced Kindergarten and she commenced as the School Accountant for St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School. Michelle then moved to St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls in 2004 where she spent 11 years as Business Manager before returning to St Mary’s in 2016 as Director of Finance and Administration. During her tenure Michelle served as Secretary to both St Hilda’s and St Mary’s School Boards and Foundations.

Michelle began her career in the Banking and Mining/Engineering industries before moving into education and completing her Masters of Business Administration. She has also served on numerous committees in the education sector, including serving as both WA and National President of the Association of School Business Administrators as well as President of the AISWA Capital Grants Association.

“Supporting education, and particularly girls’ education, is important to me. I aim to ensure the efficient and effective management of school resources so we can provide the best learning and teaching environment for our students and staff.”
