Description

AISWA's School Leadership and Teacher Quality team are partnering with Jeremy Weinstein from NoTosh to deliver the School Improvement Program.

Who is this project for?

This program is aimed at leadership teams who have an interest in developing, testing, and implementing school improvement strategies.

What content will be addressed?

The program starts with a one-day overview of the Design Thinking process, which provides participants with an understanding of the mindsets and dispositions associated with this consultative and iterative way of approaching school change.

The leadership teams will then collaborate to identify the areas they are passionate about and that require the most improvement in the school, and create a shared vision of the future that is aligned with the school's mission and objectives.

With a cause in mind, the leadership team will start to determine the best way to address the required improvements by coming up with a range of possible solutions. Once the team has settled on one (or more) solutions, the next step is to test and learn what works best, when, why, and how. Gathering data is critical to ensuring that the ideas that get implemented are sustainable in the long term.

What is the commitment from participants and the mode of delivery?

The program will be facilitated over five face-to-face sessions between the months of May - October. An additional two online check-in sessions will be held with each school via Zoom for NoTosh to engage with participants. These online sessions will occur between sessions two and three and again between sessions three and four. Participation in all sessions is essential to maximise learning.
