Description
This hands-on professional learning session supports early childhood educators to confidently plan, assess, and document learning using the Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines (2023). Grounded in play-based, intentional teaching, the workshop explores practical ways to align everyday classroom practice with curriculum outcomes while honouring each child’s unique learning journey.
Together, participants will unpack the planning cycle, examine effective observation techniques, and explore documentation strategies that make children’s thinking and progress visible. The session also highlights how the KCG learning areas, principles, and practices can guide meaningful assessment and inform responsive planning. Educators will leave with practical tools, clearer processes, and increased confidence in using the Guidelines to support high-quality, developmentally appropriate early learning programs that reflect children’s strengths, interests, and evolving capabilities.
