Description

Many educators have been waiting for the Education version of Minecraft for iPad users - and now it's here!

While there will be a particular focus on the features of Minecraft on iPad, the content will also be suitable to teachers who use Windows and Mac devices with students.

What is Minecraft? Minecraft: Education Edition is an open world game that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem solving in an immersive environment where the only limit is imagination.

During this 1-day Teacher Academy, you will:

  • Learn about Minecraft: Education Edition, its place for teaching Digital and Design Technologies, and its unique features suited to teaching & learning with immersive games in other areas of the curriculum.
  • Become a Minecraft player. Learn the controls, crafting and game features necessary to gain confidence and lower anxiety about game-based learning.
  • Learn strategies, tips, and tricks to integrate Minecraft into your classroom topics and activities. Learn about what’s worked for educators successfully teaching with Minecraft, along with resources you can bring back to your own classroom.
  • Take a learner’s role, and walk through a learning experience featuring Minecraft. Then, move through examples traversing grades and subject areas, demonstrating the global applicability of Minecraft in schools.

Attendees will need to install Minecraft: Education Edition on their iPads – search for this in the app store. https://education.minecraft.net/ipad/

Mac and Windows users, please install Minecraft: Education Edition from here. https://education.minecraft.net/get-started/download/
