Description
The Wellbeing and Mental Health in Schools Pilot Project is funded through the Australian Government Choice and Affordability Fund (CAF) to address the priority of 'Student wellbeing and support'.
Funding for Pilot Project schools can only be used to appoint a part-time Wellbeing and Mental Health Coordinator to dedicate time to driving mental health and wellbeing in the school for a period of two years (31 January 2024 -18 December 2025).
The Term 2, 2025 meeting will focus on staff wellbeing and student voice.
Outcomes
- Increased awareness in schools of evidence-based best practice approaches and interventions to support student wellbeing and mental health
- Schools supported in implementing whole-school evidence-based wellbeing strategies to address student wellbeing and mental health, and to encapsulate these in a school wellbeing plan
- Increased capacity of school staff in implementing the explicit teaching of social and emotional skills utilising appropriate curricula.
