Description
Andrea will engage us all by sharing investigations, materials, literature, and provocations that inspire all mathematicians! This engaging, interactive workshop is spaced over two online sessions, with time between to try an idea and make it your own. Participants need to attend both sessions.
The key beliefs of these workshops are key messages of the thinking of Jo Boaler and Kath Murdoch. Andrea will model inquiry-based opportunities to explore mathematics across the curriculum by inviting learners to see mathematics differently.
Be prepared for classroom examples to explore:
✓ Provoking curiosity
✓ Authentic, inquiry-rich tasks
✓ Making mathematics visual with drawing, labelling…
✓ Recording thinking using a Mathematician Notebook
✓ Making connections
✓ Effective questioning
✓ Inspiring creativity
