Featuring expert insights from Dr Judi Newman, a specialist in applied neuroscience and leadership, and Richard Spence, Director of Teaching and Learning at Scotch College, this event will offer valuable strategies for enhancing leadership, motivation, and influence in education. Attendees will also hear from experienced HALTs from South Australia who will showcase how they are impacting colleagues and students at their respective campuses.

Meika Pfeiffer-Gough is the Leadership and Teaching Excellence Manager at AISWA, part of the Curriculum and School Improvement Directorate. With 19 years of experience as a teacher and leader across diverse PK-12 educational settings, Meika is committed to promoting excellence in teaching and leadership. She highlights the importance of emotional intelligence and relational trust in building strong, respectful connections within school communities, recognizing these as essential for creating positive learning environments and inspiring growth. Passionate about leadership development, Meika works to empower confident, reflective leaders who drive collective success.

Consultant | Leadership And Teaching Excellence

Karen LeRaye has worked as an Educational Consultant at AISWA since 2016. Her background is in Arts education where she taught Drama and Dance in both primary and secondary contexts, and she has worked to support educators in independent schools with planning and delivering high-quality Arts programs. Beyond her Arts focus, Karen collaborates with educators across all learning areas to enhance their teaching practice and pedagogical approach. Her work centres on building teacher capacity to enhance student outcomes. As a dedicated education professional, Karen remains committed to fostering teaching excellence and supporting educators in their professional growth journey.
