Description
A 2-day evidence-based professional learning workshop which demonstrates how to support students to think beyond the literal level to an inferential and evaluative level of comprehension using Visible Thinking frameworks. Time will be dedicated to the strategies of questioning, inferring, synthesising and evaluating.
You will gain;
- Practical evidence-based activities to teach deeper thinking based on the 4 main comprehension strategies

Comprehension Day One
Session Goals: Apply best practice pedagogy on how to teach comprehension strategies with a focus on making inferences and generating questions.
Comprehension Day Two
Session Goal: Demonstrate how to scaffold student comprehension in order to synthesise and evaluate texts at a deeper level.
Plan for intentional teaching and link to the Australian Curriculum.
