Description
Serving on the board of an independent school is a significant commitment, demanding both responsibility and accountability. While the principal is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school, the governing body oversees its strategic direction and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
This workshop is designed to equip board members with the essential knowledge and skills to effectively balance their roles. The session will cover the following key accountabilities:
- Understanding the Division of Responsibilities: Clearly delineating the roles of the board and the principal.
- Navigating the Registration Standards: Ensuring compliance with the Non-Government School Registrar's requirements.
- Fostering Effective Governance: Implementing best practices for board governance and decision-making.
- Supporting the Principal: Providing strategic guidance and oversight to the school's leadership.
By attending this workshop, board members will gain valuable insights and practical tools to enhance their governance practices and contribute to the long-term success of the school.
