Description
“Dialogic teaching harnesses the power of talk to stimulate and extend students' thinking and advance their learning and understanding”. (Robin Alexander, 2016).
This two day professional learning will focus on how teachers can turn the traditional question- answer and listen-tell classroom talk to robust reciprocal talk that enhances deeper learning.
It will feature analysis of classroom practice – via film and transcripts – to review how teachers become conscious of their own language use. Exploratory talk and collaborative reasoning skills will be explored and strategies shared to support students’ capacity to articulate their thinking.
