Description
An opportunity for teachers of Dance to meet and discuss current issues pertaining to the Dance courses, to share resources and ideas, and to engage in professional learning.
This day is designed for teachers who are currently teaching Dance in Years 11 and/or 12, with ideas also applicable to those teaching in Years 7-10
The agenda for the day will include the following:
* Presentation from Maddie Edwards (UniSA) on creative incubation
* Debrief of the 2021 ATAR exam, plus exam writing
* Cert II and Cert III
* Education Dance Comp information session
* Time for sharing resources and informal networking

Karen LeRaye (AISWA Staff)
Teaching And Learning Consultant - The Arts
Karen LeRaye started her role at AISWA in 2016. She has taught Drama, Dance, and English at secondary schools in both Western Australia and South Australia, as well as Dance in an early childhood context in Canada. She has extensive experience in the performing arts, choreographing and directing for a number of school productions and performing arts festivals. Karen is passionate about Arts education and helping teachers develop quality Arts programs.
Maddie Edwards
Experienced Independent Artist and Teacher with a demonstrated history of working in the performing arts industry. Skilled in Contemporary Dance, Ballet, Jazz/Entertainment Arts and Teaching. Strong arts professional with a Bachelor of Dance Performance (Adelaide College of the Arts), a Master of Teaching (Secondary) (UniSA) and working towards further Dance Academia. Golden Key International Honour Society member.
