Description

The Daily 5 enables you to effectively organise the rest of the class while you teach guided reading.

Have you organised reading rotations so your guided reading sessions can run smoothly only to have your best plans break down as students struggle to work independently?

This holiday workshop looks at the Daily 5 (Boushey and Moser) which is a classroom management approach for literacy lessons that foster student independence. The session will explore how teachers can establish:
A literacy classroom management system for reading and writing workshops.
A classroom routine that enables differentiation.
A system of five literacy tasks that teaches independence and builds stamina.

Please note: Participants will sign up (for free) to the Daily 5 website to access some resources and weekly tips so people will need to bring their laptop or iPad.

Schools are also encouraged and invited to contact AISWA to have this workshop take place in their school.
