Description

The AISWA Website School Admin workshop will enable participants to become more familiar with the new AISWA website in a workshop setting.

The workshop is designed to provide a better understanding of how the website functions, reasons for maintaining accurate school data, and Professional Learning registrations. 

Topics to be covered will include:

  • Assisting staff access AISWA resources and directing communications to the appropriate people at your school.
  • Providing access to the school account and the importance of assigning correct roles for staff.
  • Managing the School Account and the responsibility of updating school information.

Registration from 1.00pm for a 1.30pm start. AISWA staff will be available for tech support before and throughout the workshop.

Who should attend?

The website is designed for staff who have been assigned the School Admin group role. Principals/Heads of Schools of smaller schools who manage their School Account may also wish to attend.
 

A School Admin, assigned by a Principal, is a user who acts as the AISWA Website Administrator on behalf of a member school or organisation.

Alyce Forbes is the Administrative Support for the Literacy Team and commenced work at AISWA in August 2014. Her role includes assisting AISWA Literacy Consultants in all manners of business. Alyce’s responsibilities include the management, organisation and booking of literacy Professional Learning events, travel and day-to-day procedures. Alyce is also available to assist schools in accessing and navigating AISWA website's. She maintains the online bookstore where all AISWA publications are sold. In addition to her work at AISWA and within the Literacy Team, Alyce has a Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management and is currently studying her Masters of International Business at Curtin University.

Project Officer - Digital Media, Marketing And Online Learning

Meika Birch-Davis has been with AISWA for more than seven years and in that time has worked across a diverse range of areas. In her current role as Project Officer she coordinates a number of ICT, marketing and digital media initiatives including AISWA’s new website redevelopment and rebranding project, the AISWA Online learning management system, online student data collection, AISWANet - private IP network, EPICT Australia and the ICT Study Tour. Her expertise lies in staff/teacher technologies training, social media, website/LMS management and the development of digital media resources and content for education and marketing purposes. She has a Bachelor Degree in Communications (Advertising and Public Relations) and is near completion of a Graduate Diploma in Education where she was offered an Academic Excellence Award scholarship.

Peter Crosbie (AISWA Staff)

Peter Crosbie was appointed Assistant Director in January 2016. This leadership role includes developing AISWA’s capability in STEM and learning technologies and working effectively with teachers and other stakeholders across the state.

Peter has a professional engineering qualification and has extensive industrial and business experience which includes working for defence establishments and a variety of engineering consultancies.

He has worked for many years in the Western Australian education system including 12 years at Hale School as a teacher and Head of Technology. Whilst at Hale School for more than seven years, Peter was an Adjunct Lecturer in Design and Technology at Edith Cowan University Perth. He has been a member of many state and national educational working groups and steering committees. He is the Contact Liaison Officer (CLO) for Scootle in the (WA) Independent School jurisdiction and is responsible for the registration of schools new to Scootle and training of Scootle administrators and teachers.
